MEET MY PACK!

My pack fluctuates a lot with dogs coming and going, but some of them are here for life! The reality of using dogs for work means some of them won't suit the job, but rehoming them is always a very hard decision. When I can, I take in dogs in need before finding them new homes, and also have dogs visiting for training occasionally. I love all dogs and have worked with and owned many different breeds, however at this point in time i'm finding Border Collies are matching what i'm looking for in my working dogs. Read on below for the current team of dogs - you might get to meet some of them if you come for lessons!

SUGAR

13yo Border Collie X Kelpie

Sugar is my number one, best dog ever! I got her as a freebie from a mate when she was two. She was nervous to start with and it took a while for her natural instinct to come out, but when it did, she was a natural and we got on like a house on fire. She's smart, talented and willing to try anything I ask of her. She excels at working flighty sheep in the paddock, and has trialled in utility (she's an open utility dog), yard trials as well as some cattle trials, but her main talent is in three sheep trials (she's an improver three sheep dog). Aside from that, she is my best mate, training assistant and general shadow. May she live forever!

Bella

4yo Border Collie

Munns Bill x Bonnie (Alpine Dingo)

Bella is sired by my partners great dog Bill. She came to us at two, and the first time we tried to work her she wouldn't stay in the yard to work the sheep, instead running back to her kennel. Nowadays we have the opposite problem, she is a very keen and intense worker! More suited to cattle but still lovely to watch on sheep, shes a stylish worker with a heap of drive and ability, will bite head and heel. She has had a couple of runs in cattle trials and one go at a three sheep trial.

Mintie

1yo Border Collie x Kelpie

S/B Kelpie x Mundila Candy (MGH Tri/Sugar)

Mintie is the youngest in my crew, and is Sugar's granddaughter. She has some really lovely natural ability and is shaping up to be a really nice worker, leaning more toward stylish paddock work with lightning fast cover. There's a little bark hiding in there too from her Kepie dad!

MAGGIE

6yo Female Miniature Dachshund

Small in stature, big in attitude! Maggie runs the show around here, keeping everyone in line. She likes to help with sheepwork, and I have plenty of videos of me working a young dog when she comes in with the assist, usually creating chaos!
